Sound Level Meter: Measure Ambient Noise with Your Computer's Microphone
Sound Level Meter is a free add-on for Chrome that allows you to measure the ambient noise and sound levels using your computer's microphone. This handy tool provides quick and accurate measurements of sound parameters such as sound level in decibels, noise level, sound average, and normalized sound value.
When you first open the add-on, you may be prompted to allow microphone access. Simply select "Yes" in the dialog box to start using the add-on. Please note that the program may take a few moments to fully load, so a little patience is required.
The add-on captures sound through your computer's microphone. If your computer doesn't have a built-in microphone, you can easily attach an external one to use with this add-on. The interface of the program can be accessed from a new tab, window, or toolbar popup. To see the microphone permission dialog upon launching the software, open it in a new window or tab.
